$1.57 MILLION SETTLEMENT IN TRUCKING CASE

On July 12, 2010, an 80,000 pound garbage truck owned by the City of Hazard, Kentucky, crossed the highway center line and killed a devoted husband and father.  The truck driver and witnesses at the scene claim the crash was unavoidable because a “mystery car” had pulled out directly in his path.  After many hard years of litigation, we resolved this case against the City and also against an ambulance company which set the whole accident sequence in motion by improperly using its emergency lights and sirens.  There were highly technical accident reconstruction issues involved.  The case resolved after several failed mediations.  Matt prepared a creative settlement video that can be viewed at
