Each year over a hundred new Indiana attorneys enter the legal profession.
The Supreme Court of the State of Indiana, through its administration of the Commission for Continuing Legal Education, requires all newly licensed lawyers in the state to attend the “Applied Professionalism Course for Newly Admitted Lawyers”. This year the Indiana Trial Lawyers hosted the March 3, 2011 seminar in Indianapolis. Matt Schad addressed the assembled new lawyers at the seminar for the second straight year. Well over a hundred new lawyers attended.
Matt spoke about “Technology in the Law Office” in an interactive philosophical discussion on finding balance in a legal world where email, cell phones, and social media conspire to sap the power of an attorney’s focus. Matt’s speaking style combines interesting visuals with a fresh, playful perspective on using technology as a tool rather than allowing it to use you.
Other speakers included the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals of Indiana, the Executive Secretary of the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission, and a trial judge from the Marion County Superior Court.
Matt is a partner in the law firm of Schad & Schad in New Albany, Indiana. He is frequently asked to speak on trial practice, demonstrative evidence, the art of jury persuasion, and technology. A member of the Board of Directors of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, Matt’s legal practice focuses exclusively on wrongful death and personal injury cases.
