The old adage, ‘Tis more blessed to give than to receive’ could not ring truer for the staff of Schad and Schad this Christmas. In an effort to establish a rapport with the surrounding community, we decided to spread some good cheer.

We have had an unseasonably cold winter this year.  In fact, we probably take it for granted that we leave our homes each morning with a nice warm coat to wear.  Some of us probably even have a choice of jackets.  But for some children in our area, this is simply not the case.  Recognizing this, the staff of Schad and Schad struck out to see that the simple gift of warmth was something that just a few local school-age children could count on in this cold season.

Together with a staff counselor at S. Ellen Jones Elementary School, a plan was devised to help eliminate this problem. Schad and Schad purchased 24 jackets for students in need between the ages of 6 and 12 and delivered them last week.  What a true joy it has been to bestow the gift of warmth and a little fashion to children who might  often go without.

In this season of giving, we put forth the challenge of changing someone’s situation, in whatever manner you can accomplish. From our experience, we can promise that YOU will receive the gift of the "warm fuzzies" no matter what you are able to do.
